YIN AND YANG – NATURAL FIBER AND GLASS ARTISANS COLLABORATE

Soap on soap dish

Wholesale artisans Dee Janssen of Dee Janssen Glassworks in Georgia and Karyn Belknap of Ten Good Sheep in Virginia, have teamed up at the suggestion of one of their enthusiastic retailers.   Diane Bower of Just Around The Corner in Easton PA met Dee at a trade show and admired her work.  Diane, a long time customer of Ten Good Sheep, suggested to Dee that combining her vivid glass with the richly colored natural fibers would be a sure hit.

Ten Good Sheep produces natural fiber wearables, accessories and home goods, including colorful hand felted olive oil soaps embellished with silk, bamboo and merino.  Dee Janssen Glassworks produces vibrant glass soap dishes as part of a wide variety of distinctive glass home accessories and jewelry.  Together their work is a feast of texture and color designed to be unique, complimentary hand made gifts at a low price point.

While artisans tend to work individually in their studios, the opportunity for collaboration

via the internet has allowed these two women in different mediums to expand their offerings to their customers and innovate their art at the same time.  Work by both of these artisans is available at independent retailers across the country.  More information can be found at www.DeeJanssenGlass.com or www.TenGoodSheep.com.
